The Walworth Barbour American International School (WBAIS), a PreK-12 college preparatory international school located in Even Yehuda, is seeking a qualified long-term substitute for Middle School and High School Chorus. The substitute will replace a teacher on maternity leave, starting on August 7 until September 2019. The ideal candidate will be fluent in the English language and have recent experience teaching chorus as a subject in a school setting. Candidates will also embrace inquiry based teaching and learning. Successful classroom experience teaching children ages 10-18 in choral music is a requirement as well as solid collaboration skills.

The position we are seeking to fill is a 40% Choral Music teaching position with one section of HS (grades 9-12) chorus, one of MS (grades 6-8) chorus. Each class meets every other day for 85 minutes. The students will need to be prepared to perform in two to three concerts during the second semester. Grades are based largely on in-class assignments, focused around a "composer of the month" each month, in conjunction with the Elementary School music teacher. The long-term substitute will be in responsible for grading assignments and turning in grades and comments on each student at the end of each quarter in preparation for report cards.

A Bachelor’s degree or similar degree in music or choral music instruction is required. Initial interviews will take place in person at the Walworth Barbour American International School, Even Yehuda.
