Save a Child’s Heart (SACH) in Israel is seeking a dynamic and experienced Young Leadership (YL) Director to be responsible for the national and international Young Leadership Program of SACH.

Save a Child’s Heart’s mission is to provide life-saving heart surgery and other cardiac care to children from developing countries which cannot provide the medical expertise required. SACH provides its services out of the Wolfson Medical Center in Holon, Israel (WMC). As part of its mission, SACH undertakes to create centers of competence in developing countries with emphasis on the WMC in Israel. SACH has treated over 5,600 children to date from 62 countries.

In 2006 SACH launched the Young Leadership Program (YLP) to accommodate the numerous students and young professionals who were pursuing hands-on experiences in Israel via group visits and volunteering. The YLP quickly expanded to encompass a global network of students and young professionals serving as ambassadors for SACH on their campuses and in their communities back home. The YLP has the ultimate goal of raising awareness and funds for the lifesaving treatment of children suffering from heart disease in Israel by empowering youth and young professionals abroad and within Israel.

The YL Director position is full-time and based in Holon, Israel.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Managing the extensive volunteer program which includes virtual and in-person volunteers from Israel and all over the world
• Managing international fundraising campaigns, such as the annual Valentine’s Day campaign
• Managing the various internship programs: Medical (virtual and in-person), Volunteer and Office
• Coordinating and managing group visits through tour operators and international offices
• Pursuing grants and funding opportunities for the Young Leadership Program
• Developing and maintaining international Young Leadership chapters
• Assisting in the general PR and marketing activities of the organization
• Working with marketing on the development of resources and materials for fundraising efforts


• Excellent leadership skills and experience in a formal leadership role
• Strong public speaking abilities
• At least 3 years of experience in fundraising and/or development
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, and ideally at least minimal experience in PR & communications
• Experience in event planning an asset
• Fluency in written and spoken English is a must, additional fluency in Hebrew is an asset.
• Capacity to work with diverse communities and diverse constituencies.
• Computer literacy a must – All Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suit)
• Ability to work some evenings
