Rapyd is the mobile-first “network of networks” that makes the world’s favorite ways to pay and be paid instantly available through a single API and SDK, so that just as easily as developers could already take cards, they can now accept cash from a merchant in Ghana, a bank transfer from a shopper in the Philippines, or an ATM transfer from a homesick worker looking to send joy back to their family.

Through our partner API we are bringing together local financial specialists from every corner of the world to make the 100s of ways people pay available around the world, so that ecommerce merchants, gig platforms, challenger wallets, remittance platforms, online lenders, and even traditional banks can break free of their old infrastructure and limitations and create new mobile-friendly solutions to make payments faster and smarter.

Founded in 2015, Rapyd is already global, with offices in London, Singapore, Silicon Valley, and Tel Aviv. Rapyd is venture backed and has raised multiple rounds, and currently has funding for a good runway and global expansion.

Reporting to and supporting directly the Director of EMEA, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving new business growth internationally for Rapyd, the fintech-as-a-service solution and world’s largest local payment network. From proactively sourcing new merchants across different industries to swimmingly converting inbound leads into live clients. You will handle multiple long sales cycles ensuring with the collaboration of our Customer Success team that merchants are successfully active and processing transactions with our platform whilst outperforming your given targets.

Responsibilities:
• Identify the most promising business opportunities with merchants across various verticals in order to build a healthy pipeline of business relationships across EMEA.
• Sell and promote Rapyd fintech-as-a-service solution to e-commerce merchants via cold calling, fairs, networking, etc.
• Help new merchants understand Rapyd´s capabilities, technology and how this will benefit them via an initial conference call, personal meeting and answering all questions that they might have regarding the solution.
• Create presentations and proposals tailored to merchants’ needs to maximise the chance of winning the deal.
• Orchestrate the entire Sales process from first contact, negotiations, signature to LIVE account.
• Act as the main point of contact for merchants and other departments involved.
• Keep a well-structured and healthy portfolio of merchants across multiple industries.
• Share best practice, feedback from merchants, key insight and industry trends including competitor insights with Business, Marketing and other departments within Rapyd.
• Participate in the various fairs that Rapyd attends throughout the year internationally.

Requirements

• At least 3 years Sales experience in the e-commerce and payments industry.
• A strong network of potential merchants across EMEA.
• Proven track record of having exceeded given targets and expectations.
• Knowledge of CRM tools.
• Must be able to ‘talk shop’ with e-commerce players, banks, lenders, fintech’s, and clients who live and breathe payments every day.
• Must be a team player and able to fill in the gaps by rallying internal and external stakeholders to make things happen.
• Must be able to work with and without a pre-defined sales script(s) by developing a deep understanding of Rapyd’s product.
• Solid business acumen and awareness of financial factors.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills and techniques.
• A winner with an excellent ability to help and deal with clients throughout the entire sales cycle.
• Agile and able to adapt to a fast growing organisation.
• Must be Fluent in English. Other European languages such as German, French or Swedish will be desirable.
• Ability to travel regionally for 2-3 days at a time, and up to 40% overall.
