We are looking for reinforcement into our Data Collection team to help us scale up our operations. We currently grab hundreds of thousands of data points across the web daily, and it takes some reeeal hard work from our dedicated Data Collection engineers and Data Scientists to collect, ingest, and analyze all that data. We take pride in our ability to hunt down online evil wherever it may lurk, so here is a chance for you to take part in seriously expanding that capability.
In short, the Data Collection team is responsible for creating the infrastructure and actual data collection capabilities which fuel ActiveFence’s ability to fulfil its mission of effectively combatting online evil at scale. Going into 2021 we are faced with the challenge of seriously scaling up our coverage of an ever expanding and ever more complex online landscape. This is where you come in. The team consists of three skilled backend engineers for now and we want to bring you in to strengthen the team!
The team is working closely with other engineering teams, especially with our top notch data scientists, and has the support of a product lead and our in house hackers and web-intel specialists. You should be hungry for solving complex and scale bound architectural challenges as well as hacking your way into the heart of our targeted collection platforms. You hopefully have a love for problem-solving, and a versatile skill set with a full ownership mentality. So expect to find yourself taking features from inception to production on a regular basis, taking complete responsibility for the quality of your work, and being a full partner in leading architectural and strategic processes.
Our backend stack consists mainly of Node.js (TypeScript), running on top of MongoDb, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, and more in AWS. so experience with these would be highly beneficial. In any case you should be ready to learn and use new languages, frameworks, infrastructures, and generally anything.
Other than that it would be great if you have:
- Experience dealing with high-load and backends designed for scale
- Experience with databases both relational and otherwise
- Experience with micro-service architecture principles and practice
- Experience with Scraping or Reverse engineering
- A general attraction towards best practices and good solid design principles
And really great if you have:
- Some DevOps experience
- Some Machine learning experience
